We seek a skilled and innovative Database Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Database Engineer, you will be pivotal in designing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing database solutions to support our organization's applications and services.

The position is 100% remote in Colombia.

• Design and implement efficient and scalable database architectures on the Cloud.
• Collaborate with development teams to understand database requirements and optimize database schemas.
• Review and control the SQL PRs with tools Liquidbase DDL/DML Scripts.
• Implement and maintain database security measures and access controls.
• Execute database performance tuning and optimization (indexes, partitions, etc).
• Ensure the backup strategy and recovery procedures.
• Develop and maintain scripts for database automation and management tasks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain database solutions.
• Stay informed about emerging trends and technologies in database engineering.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.
• Monitor database performance and take action when necessary.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in database engineering or a related role.
• Proficiency in database management systems such as Azure SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Strong knowledge of database security, backups, and access controls.
• Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience designing and implementing transactional databases.
• Knowledge of No-SQL databases their functionality and maintenance.
• Understanding of database replication and clustering technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred:

• Certifications in database engineering (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Engineer Associate, Oracle Database Developer Certified Professional).

• Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

• Familiarity with cloud-based database services.

• Previous experience in a remote work environment.
