Overview

The Accounts Payable Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization. This position involves performing a variety of accounting and financial tasks to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial transactions and reporting. The Accounts Payable Assistant works closely with the finance team and reports to the Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities

  • Managing assigned subledgers, such as Credit Cards, bank accounts, accounts payable,

    Billing, A/R, Fixed Assets etc. using accounting software and other 3rd party programs.

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors.
  • Ensure all accounting entries are entered and are paid or handled in a timely and

accurate manner.

  • Assist with special projects as necessary.
  • Subledger Examples.
  • Processing invoices for payments.
  • Analyze and post all credit card transactions accordingly.
  • Analyze and post all bank transactions accordingly.

 

Performance Metrics/KPIs

 

  • Accurate and timely payments of all vendor invoices, credit cards, etc.
  • Friendly customer service with all internal and external encounters.

 

Decision Rights

 

  • Conforming to established SOP’s.
  • Advise management of any discrepancies or exceptions in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  •  3-5 years of similar sub-ledger experience.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounts payable and account reconciliation.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle internal & external interactions in a professional manner.
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish).
